Surrealist Sculpture
Surrealist Sculpture: Marvelous Objects from Paris to New York Produced in conjunction with an exhibition presented at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, this book presents an overview of the development of sculpture by artists inspired by the goals and methods of surrealism and delineates a dialogue between the two dominant modes of sculpture that evolved in tandem within the surrealist movement: found-object assemblages and nature-inspired biomorphism. Many of the sculptural works were silhouetted and placed embedded within the text, enhancing the 3-dimensional quality of the works on the page.
