Two Crowns of the Egg by Michael Somoroff

Two Crowns of the Egg was conceived as a loving tribute to Michael Somoroff’s wife, Irina. In 2014 Michael asked me work with him on a series of deeply personal images to realize into a book as he felt he was too close to the images and needed an outside perspective.. Many of the images were 35 mm Polaroid, a film format that was fragile and often showed exposure and developing imperfections, which provided a strong poetic sensibility.

Poetry by Giannina Braschi, essay by Donald Kuspit, tritone separations by Robert Hennessey. Printed by Grafiche Damiani.

12 x 13.75 inches (304.8 x 349.25 mm), 118 pages. Soft cover, foil stamp, interior tipped in translucent vellum pages, one full 4-page gatefold.

ISBN: 978-88-6208-353-9
